Teeth Cleaning

In a standard teeth cleaning, a dentist or dental hygienist removes soft plaque and hard tartar (mineralized plaque that builds up on the teeth and can only be removed with professional instruments) from above the gum line. Teeth cleaning process requires one office visit and usually takes about 30 to 50 minutes.

Regular teeth cleanings are imperative in order to prevent Gingivitis, also called gum disease or periodontal disease. Gingivitis starts with bacterial growth in your mouth and may end  with tooth loss due to destruction of the tissue that surrounds your teeth, if not properly treated.
