AVALONDENTAL

Pleasanton · San Ramon

For Pleasanton families who want the same dentist every time

Continuity is the thing people drive for. The same dentist, the same hygienist, and records that go back far enough to be useful.

Grandparents and grandchildren lying together, heads touching, all smiling

Who this is for

  • Your long-standing dentist retired or sold the practice
  • You have seen a different dentist on each of your last three visits
  • You want a second opinion on a treatment plan
  • You want somewhere your children will not be afraid of

Why continuity is a clinical argument, not a sentimental one

When we have seen someone for fifteen years, we can tell the difference between a spot that has looked exactly like that since 2014 and one that is genuinely changing. A new dentist sees a photograph. A practice with your history sees a trend.

That is most obvious with gums. We chart pocket depths in six places per tooth and compare them to last year. Numbers that are stable are good news even if they are not perfect. Numbers that are moving get attention early, when the answer is still a deeper cleaning rather than surgery.

Without last year's numbers, those two situations look identical.

Second opinions, without the awkwardness

A good number of people find us because a treatment plan somewhere else did not sit right.

Bring it in. We will go through it with you honestly — including the times we think the other practice was right, which happens often. You are not obliged to move, and we will not spend the appointment criticizing a colleague.

What you will get is your own images on a screen and a straight account of what we would do and what we would leave alone.

Getting here from Pleasanton

We are at 2491 San Ramon Valley Blvd in San Ramon, a straightforward run north. Free parking directly outside, ground floor, step-free from the parking lot.

Book the household together if you are making the trip — parents and children back-to-back, out before lunch. It is the single most useful thing we can arrange for a family driving in.

What to expect

Here’s how the visit actually goes.

No surprises. That’s the whole idea.

  1. 01

    Before you arrive

Paperwork by text or email, insurance verified in advance.

  2. 02

    The first visit

About an hour and a half, unhurried, with a conversation before anything clinical.

  3. 03

    A full assessment

Photos, x-rays if due, gums charted, and an oral cancer screening every visit.

  4. 04

    Records requested

We will get your history from your previous practice so nothing is repeated.

  5. 05

    A plan you take away

Written, priced, and yours to think about.

Questions

Answered before you ask.

Will you request my records?

Yes. Give us your previous practice's details and we will handle it. Bring recent x-rays if you have copies.

Can I get a second opinion without switching?

Absolutely. Plenty of people do exactly that and stay where they are, which is a perfectly good outcome.

Do you see children?

Yes, from their first visit onward. Early appointments are deliberately short and uneventful — that is what makes them relaxed about it at twelve.

What if it has been years?

Then you are in common company and nobody here will comment on it. We will work out where things stand and build a plan you can work through at your own pace.
