The appointment where nothing happens
You can book an appointment where we do nothing at all. Plenty of our long-term patients started exactly that way.

Who this is for
- You have canceled dental appointments before and do not want to again
- It has been long enough that walking in feels like the hard part
- You want to see the place before committing to anything
- You are booking for a partner or parent who is dreading it
What a meet-only visit involves
You come in, you sit in the chair, or in the lounge if the chair is too much on day one, and we talk. You see the room, meet the person who will be treating you, and ask whatever you want.
No examination. No instruments on the tray. No x-rays, no mirror, no plan. You leave.
It sounds like a waste of an appointment slot and it is one of the most useful things we do. The hardest part of returning to dentistry after years away is almost never the treatment. It is the walking in. Doing that once, with nothing at stake, removes it.
What we will ask, and what we will not
We will ask what has gone badly before, what you would want us to do differently, how much you want to be told, and what your stop signal should be.
We will not ask why it has been so long. We do not care, we have heard every version, and the reaction you are braced for is not coming. Nobody here is going to make a face.
We also will not give you a treatment plan on that visit, or a price, or a lecture about what waiting has cost you. That is the whole point of the appointment.
What happens next, at your pace
When you are ready, which might be that week or might be three months later, we do an examination. Photographs, x-rays if you agree to them, and a look. Still no treatment.
Then we talk about what we found, with your own images on the screen, and you decide what to do and in what order. Most people want the thing that worries them most dealt with first, which is usually the right instinct.
From there, short appointments, one thing at a time, first slot of the morning. Four comfortable visits beat one long one you dread.
What to expect
Here’s how the visit actually goes.
No surprises. That’s the whole idea.
01
Booking
Say you would like a meet-only first visit. Nobody will find that odd; we offer it deliberately.
02
Arriving
Come at the start of the day if waiting is the difficult part. There is a lounge rather than a row of chairs.
03
The conversation
Sitting up, unhurried, no instruments in the room.
04
Leaving
That is genuinely it. No plan, no price, no pressure to rebook on the spot.
Questions
Answered before you ask.
Is this a real thing or are you being polite?
It is real and we mean it. Ask for a meet-only visit when you call and it will be booked as one.
Can I bring someone?
Yes. There is room in the treatment room for someone to sit with you, and plenty of patients bring a partner or a friend.
What if I get there and cannot go through with it?
Then you leave, and we will book you again whenever you want. That is not a wasted appointment or a failure. It is the arrangement working.
Will you pressure me to book treatment?
No. If you leave having only sat in the chair and talked, the visit did what it was for.
